I can't believe I did it! I'll write more later. Need a shower NOW!
It's been 24 hours since I finished and I am exhausted. I don't hurt as much as I thought, but I was working out in the sun earlier and realized it was just way too hot. I forgot the sunscreen and my chin and nose are burnt!
I've found some new places that I want to explore - hiking may be my next avenue of adventure. Any takers? Jill Homer has been quite an inspiration to me and when I ride I always think of her and the things she has accomplished, tried and enjoyed.

Congratulations, Why hike when you can cover more scenery on a bike?
Thanks much - the bicycling is a stretch for me, it's hard and I am trying to push myself every time I go out. Hiking is the same for me - it's a goal that seems unattainable - so I have to push myself to do it. And to be able to climb to the top of Big Nose and Little Nose is a goal at this point.
If you go to Canajoharie and take 10 north theres some nice hikes btween Caroga lake and Picseco. One small peak echo cliffs/spectale lake is a nice one ( good climb but a true 46er)about 2-3 hours round trip. Happy Hiking!
Thanks a lot! I will definitely look into those - now I just need someone to hike with. Don't really think it's good for a novice to go it alone!
Do you realize that you have now officially ridden farther than I ever have? Or will for awhile.... Between adjusting to the new bike (new saddle = OW!) and physical therapy for the knee (Therapist insists I go easy), I'll be doing lots of short rides for awhile. But that doesn't mean Louise & I don't plan to break your record eventually :-)
I would love to volunteer, but I am "spoken for". I do enjoy reading your blog especially about the canal trail as I love to walk it.
Hey Mel! I believe that when you and Louise do 'beat' my 62 miles - I'll just have to ramp it up! :) It's good to have someone to 'compete' against.
And to Anonymous - it's all good - I'll find someone to hike with and I'll make sure to keep putting more of my adventures on the blog. I appreciate you reading it!
